About Zita Nadege Foundation

The Zita Nadege Foundation (ZNF) is a Non-Governmental Organization formed in 2026 and based in Yaounde, in the Centre Region of Cameroon. It is dedicated to creating a world where individuals with sickle cell disease can live long, healthy, and fulfilling lives by raising awareness and educating communities about sickle cell disease, its early identification, management, and care.

Our Mission

Our Mission

We work to improve quality of life for people living with sickle cell disease by raising awareness, providing practical resources, and supporting families with clear, trusted information.

What We Do

What We Do

Through community programs, partnerships, and educational initiatives, we help families navigate care, encourage early screening, and connect people to support and guidance when they need it most.

Our Values

Our Values

Humanity, integrity, respect, and impact guide everything we do. We believe no one should face sickle cell disease alone, and that community support and awareness can create lasting change.

About Sickle Cell Disease

Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that affects hemoglobin, the part of red blood cells responsible for carrying oxygen throughout the body. When hemoglobin changes shape, red blood cells can become rigid and sickle-shaped, which may block blood flow and reduce oxygen delivery to tissues. This can lead to episodes of pain, fatigue, infections, and complications that impact daily life at school, work, and home. While sickle cell disease is lifelong, many people live well with the right support, timely medical care, and strong awareness in their community.

Living with sickle cell disease is not only a medical journey, it is also an emotional and social one for individuals and families. Education, early screening, and consistent follow-up help people recognize symptoms early and make informed decisions. Support networks also matter: clear information, encouragement, and access to resources can reduce stress and stigma, and help families feel less alone. By strengthening awareness and community understanding, we can help improve quality of life, promote earlier care, and create a more supportive environment for everyone affected by sickle cell disease.

Our Vision

The vision of the Zita Nadege Foundation (ZNF) is to build a compassionate, sustainable movement that puts people living with sickle cell disease at the center of care and advocacy. Within its first two years, ZNF aims to become a trusted organization and a leading local voice for awareness and education. Guided by genuine care for patients and families, the Foundation plans to expand its impact across Cameroon. Over time, ZNF aspires to establish a dedicated clinic and ultimately a full medical center to provide accessible, high-quality, patient-focused care.
